The Vallée de Saint-Bon was the first to become equipped for winter sports. It includes the resort of Courchevel (1,300 - 1,850 metres) and six villages connected by ski lifts, pistes and shuttles.
Col de la Loze leads to the second valley, les Allues. The resorts of Méribel and Méribel-Mottaret, at 1,500m and 1,700m altitude respectively, make up the heart of Les 3 Vallées. Méribel is linked by cable car to the spa resort of Brides-les-Bains (600m altitude).
The third valley is Belleville. It is the largest in the area and comprises 3 ski resorts : St-Martin-de-Belleville (1,400m), Les Menuires (1,850m) and Val Thorens (2,300m), the highest resort in Europe. Orelle (900m altitude) in Maurienne is linked to the other Tarentais resorts via the summit of the Point du Bouchet (3,400m).
Situated between 1,300m and 3,230m altitude, with 85% of the ski area above 1,800m, optimal snow conditions are guaranteed from Christmas to late spring !!
Go back to your younger days and challenge your friends to a race down one of the 9 toboggan runs. Roc'n Bob at Menuires has a 4km snow-covered slope, 22 raised bends, 450m difference in height so fun and games are guaranteed !
Courchevel was the first purpose-built ski resort created at the instigation of the Département de la Savoie in 1946. Courchevel and its 6 villages offer a host of different worlds at the heart of a magnificent forest.
